Altair sees the Earth five ways at once

Altair is a 10 satellite Earth observation constellation built in Abu Dhabi. Each satellite carries five complementary sensors and processes data onboard, so analysis ready answers reach you sooner. It is being assembled now, with first launches planned for 2026.

Five complementary ways to see more

Every Altair satellite carries all five sensors, and they operate together. One tasking returns a layered answer that a single sensor fleet cannot.

Sensor 01

Sub-metre optical

Visual observation, mapping and identification at sub-metre resolution. The optical layer anchors every fused product, giving analysts a sharp, recognisable picture of what is on the ground.

Shortwave infrared

Sensor 02

Shortwave infrared

Material differentiation and environmental analysis beyond the visible range. Shortwave infrared reads moisture, vegetation and surface composition the eye cannot, even through haze.

Thermal

Sensor 03

Thermal

Temperature based detection and monitoring of industrial and ground activity. The thermal layer reveals heat signatures by day or night, surfacing activity the visual layer would miss.

Hyperspectral

Hyperspectral

Fine spectral analysis for material identification across many bands. Hyperspectral sensing fingerprints minerals, crops and pollutants by their unique spectral signature.

Radio frequency

Sensor 05

Radio frequency

Detection of radio frequency signals and emitter patterns across the scene. The radio frequency layer maps emitters and interference, adding awareness the optical sensors cannot provide.

Altair carries onboard edge computing, so much of the work happens before the data ever reaches the ground. The constellation fuses five sensors, processes the scene in orbit and sends down analysis ready answers, not raw frames waiting to be decoded.
